At Roots Charter High School, the Community Council empowers educational stakeholders—parents, teachers, and administrators—to have a meaningful voice in shaping our school’s resources and priorities. Through funding provided by Utah’s Land Trust, the council ensures that allocations directly support academic growth and align with our commitment to every student’s success.
More than a financial oversight body, our Community Council reflects the unique culture of Roots. Members collaborate not only to make impactful decisions about funding but also to serve on key committees, including those focused on Sex Education Curriculum, Wellness, and other initiatives that foster a safe and inclusive environment for students.
This council embodies the core of our mission: strengthening connections between families, educators, and the community to create opportunities for every student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
If you are interested in joining this community council for the upcoming school year, please reach out to Tyler Bastian at [email protected]

School LAND Trust Program
In the state of Utah, monies from school trust lands are distributed to every public school through the School LAND Trust Program. Quest Academy has a School LAND Trust Committee whose responsibilities include creating and approving the School LAND Trust Plan each year which identifies an academic need and a proposed solution using the annual funds. The committee is an advisory body that may be comprised of parents, teachers, and administrators. All School LAND Trust Committee actions and plans are overseen and approved by the Governing Board of Directors. School LAND Trust Committee members are willing volunteers who care about the success of students and overall school improvement and Quest Academy is grateful for their time and dedication.
The School LAND Trust Committee meetings are open to the public. Agendas and minutes are posted on the Community Council page. The council will utilize and follow the School LAND Trust Committee Rules of Order and follow a pre-determined agenda. For more information about the School LAND Trust Program, visit www.SchoolLandTrust.org.
