Emergency Drills at Roots Charter High School
Roots Charter High School conducts all emergency drills in full compliance with Utah Code Section 15A-5-202.5.
To ensure the safety and preparedness of our students and staff, we follow these requirements:

• Fire Drills: Four fire evacuation drills are conducted during the nine-month school year.
  • The first fire drill is held within the first 10 school days of the year.
  • A third fire drill, weather permitting, is held within the first 10 school days after the start of the new calendar year (January).
• Other Emergency Drills: In addition to fire drills, Roots conducts at least two additional emergency drills each year. These may include shelter-in-place, earthquake, or lockdown drills.

These regular drills ensure that students and staff know how to respond quickly and safely in a variety of emergency situations.
