Doors at five. The tables run down the the farm under string lights, with the Wasatch turning pink behind us.

Dinner comes off this farm. Vegetables from our soil, eggs from our four hundred hens, and flowers our floral students cut and arranged that morning.

Why we gather.

243 is how we say We Love You. Two letters for we, four for love, three for you. It is the method behind every hallway conversation at this school.

Every student here deserves to be seen and to matter. When a student knows they belong, they start to believe they are capable of more than anyone ever told them.

Roots is tuition-free. State money covers the classroom. It does not cover the rest.

Your ticket buys meals, transportation, work experience on the farm, and an agriculture education. Most of all it buys time with adults who know every student by name.

Before you come.

  • Bring a layer. Dinner is outdoors, and late September gets cold the minute the sun drops behind the mountains.
  • Finding us. The farm sits just south of Roots Charter High School, at 2320 S 1300 W, West Valley City. Questions about parking or dietary needs: call the front office at (385) 715-2591 or email office@rootshigh.org.

Cannot make the twenty-fourth? The Neighbor Fund does the same work every month, starting at five dollars.
